One Shoot Sunday: A Place To Share Your Photography

New To One Shot & Starting Sunday 8th August

One Shoot Sunday: A Place To Share Your Photography

We at One Shot couldn't help but notice how poets love their cameras! Read a poem and you can be guaranteed it is accompanied by a wonderful photograph.

Sometimes you take a photo and want to share it; that photograph could inspire a poet to resonate!

One Shoot Sunday gives you the opportunity to share your photos, see the work of others, study new mediums, inspire new ideas. You never know - there might be a poet just waiting in the wings captivated by your wonderful image, wanting to immortalize it with words of wonder....

Welcome to One Shoot Sunday: A new place to share your photography. Starts this Sunday, August 8th.  Hosted by: Adam Dustus - our resident photographer.

"Self Portrait"

"Capsized"

Okay just a question, because I love photography and altering images and place many upon my blog, is this for new photos/images for the use of others with our permissions? Best to have new ones to contribute? Can we share others of our own personal use? =)) In any event I hope I can be a part of this!!! =) ~April

That is an important consideration, April. I've always been very open with my work and don't mind if others use it. I like to think blogging is a cultural of sharing, but no system is perfect. I would say treat your photo (s), whatever you choose to share, as you would a post. Some people add disclaimers on their sites. Others don't care about the issue. i think each question you raise can be answered by each blogger who posts an image.
Post to share, but state the limits of that sharing. Asking for permission to use a post is good courtesy. Perhaps that's a good way to handle it.

Lots of poetry bloggers will post photos (usually with an acknowledgment if not their work) as a poetry prompt. How about for One Shoot we focus on the image itself, or the process of taking the photo, or an interesting aside to go along with the pic. Most importantly, let's share, support, and have fun checking out some cool work. Pictures tell stories and the pictures themselves have stories behind them.

Let's have fun with it. Like One Shot Poetry Wednesday, think of it as sort of a beta project like most of the computer platforms we use, that aiming to improve with feedback as to how to make it better.

Thanks, April... hope you'll be a part of this. You taken outstanding photos and I'm sure people would enjoy commenting on them :)

Thank you so much Adam, really appreciate you taking the time to highlight my questions. So perhaps maybe put a note allowing for use. Which I love sharing, its a lot of fun! ~ think I'll refrain from the self-portraits, lol.... although if someone wrote about me I have a wonder what they may say in a poem/story!!! (now there's an idea...) I will be happy to contribute ones others may enjoy in! Thanks again Adam! :)
