Dustus Friday Guest Spotlight: Belinda Munoz

Welcome to Dustus Friday on
One Stop Poetry
!

Today, we have a special guest poet who continues to link up and share her skill on One Shot Poetry Wednesday!

In the One Stop Poetry spotlight is Belinda Munoz.

Belinda's blog is called The Halfway Point: Choosing Positivity. She describes her blog’s primary goal as an exploration "of the things we want (or think we want)." With an aim "to provide a place for candid conversations and questions about the philosophical grey areas in life... The halfway point lies somewhere between the beginning and the end."

The first poem is called "Trust" ...followed by "Temptation"

****************

Trust

I am a slow build
of strengthening vulnerability
swelling with each season

You seize and release me
holding on with faith
letting go with doubt

Intimate with transience
I reach, I fall short
conviction and question commingling

Upon maturity
I am fiercely loyal
Even proof is no guarantee

With warmth I thrive, yet
I can't connect with another
unless I'm one with you

****************

Temptation

There you are in surplus

Fiddling with my strength, my weakness

Stunning on the surface, you trespass

Your flimsy promise dilutes my consciousness

You seduce me, assault my senses

Hoping I’m a sucker, no sale

Don’t you know, my trained hippocampus

Remembers your purpose, your evil animus

You create a rumpus, a circus

Your essence, messin’ with my business

I tell myself, I’m making progress

I practice, don’t need your service

But secretly I think of you

Oh, luscious pieces of breathtaking you
