One Shot Poetry Wednesday - Week 15

Welcome To One Shot Wednesday:
A Celebration of Poetic Inspiration

On behalf of the One Stop Poetry Team, welcome to One Shot. I'm Adam Dustus—grateful to be your emcee for our 15th week!

Without question, the encouragement and camaraderie displayed during OSW remains a great source of poetic inspiration to our online poetic community. Let us continue to celebrate poetry and creativity by sharing work, providing feedback, and encouraging fellow artists.

Before beginning, I'd like to say that One Stop is thrilled to continue this weekly event. We appreciate all the encouragement we have received over the past 15 weeks. Here's to many more One Shot Wednesdays!

If you're new to OSW, here's how it works:
1) Post a poem
2) Link your poem to One Shot using our Mr Linky (provide your name, URL for the poem)
3) Visit other One Shot poets. Tell them how you felt when reading, encourage them, interact...
4) Tell others about OSW by including a link to this page on your post.

Have fun & enjoy!
Adam

Thank you for hosting. This is one of the week's highlights.

My poem is titled "Not Because of You". Enjoy.

I am taking a bit of a chance with this post. It is a response poem to a George Darley poem from 1828, so the language is a bit archaic and you have to read the original to fully enjoy the response (although it isn't bad by itself). I trust the One Shot Wednesday readers will have the patience to try this out, as I think the result is worth it.

Do not thy Beauty scorn

Thanks for giving me the opportunity to share this.

Thanks, again. Will start reading, commenting tomorrow, as today is busier than usual. Apologies for the delay.

Hi guys, nice to be back. I'm posting some old poems ie. did not write them for this specific Wednesday. But it would be great to get some feedback. Thanks.

I can't believe how nervous I am to post here for the first time. But, I'm too old to let fear stop me from doing things.

Glad to be here.

Boozhoo~ Hi everyone
This week I am expressing a frustration that was part of my parenting world. I say 'was' because I figured how to rid the daily horror out of my life this year. It wasn't as much doing as watching and realizing the waste and I was part of it. :)

Asobime said...

Yah!! It worked....

Mr. Linky revived himself and did the good deed at:

http://ladynyo.wordpress.com

I am beginning to feel this is the highlight of my week. And also am so impressed with the caliber of poets I have read here.

But is it "OneShot" or OneSpot???

Confusion reigns!

Hi OSW team - I'd like to invite you to join the larger online poetry community by sharing links in your sidebar with the other fine quality poetry/prompt hub sites that are active every week.

Several have been providing prompts for a number of years -- my site, Writer's Island since 2007, and others even longer.

Stop by Writer's Island and you will see a group of the sidebar links to which I refer.

You've started up a nice site here. Keep up the good work, and join us to expand the larger online poetry and creative community.

FYI, I do 2 poems every day. The daily news poem & the #twitterfoundpoem, so my oneshot is always a bit fungible.

Glad to see 1SW is doing so well. Can't wait to read through all the great poets over the next few days. Getting to know so many others interested in poetry has been a great experience. Congrats on the growth of the site.

Hey!

Hello everyone! I'm new here, I hope to figure out how the group works, to meet new poets and make friends as well.

I'm from Brazil, I write a bilingual poetry blog (Portuguese-English) called Poesia Torta (which translates 'Crooked Poetry').

Come and visit me when you have time.

Take care y'all.

I have wrongly put the previous post here due to some error in copying the link... at number 85. Can some one delete that link to and let the number 86 posting remain, as I dont want friends to go and read what they have already read... I am not able to do that on my own... Please... thanks

This is the post I would like friends to read...
