One Stop Poetry Competition

Welcome to One Stop Poetry's Fall 2010 Competition

Theme: Through A Child's Eyes

We thoroughly enjoyed reading the submissions from our last Competition, and following on from its success we are very thrilled about this one.

We are excited to announce that Sparkbright Magazine will be publishing the winner of this Competition in their winter magazine which comes out in early December.

Please note the following rules for submission

1, All entries must be original and unpublished (magazine requirements) previously, which includes publication on the internet

2, Poems must be less than 25 lines of text

3, Please have your text in one language, in Arial font, size 11 

4, Your heading should be the Title of the poem (larger font size is fine) with no other information

5, You may submit any number of poems. Each poem must be submitted individually

6, All poems are to be submitted by email to the following oneshotpoetry@gmail.com

7, Please ensure the following information is at the bottom of your submission
     a. Name (the name that you would submit to a publisher)
     b. Email address
     c. Website
     d. Competition you are submitting for: One Stop Fall 2010

8, The closing date is October 22nd, 2010

Thank you for your cooperation. Theses rules are established for the ease of administration and the judging of your poem.

Judges will include One Stop Poetry Admin & Sparkbright Magazine Editorial staff. The Administrator of the Competition will not be part of the judging process. The staff of One Stop Poetry  which are Leslie Moon, Adam Dustus, Pete Marshall & Brian Miller, will not be allowed to enter the Competition. 

The winning entry will be announced in November, however Sparkbright Magazine reserve the right to publish the winning entry in full in their December publication.

I am sure you can all agree that this is exciting news and we look forward to receiving your submissions

I'm usually not one to jump through hoops (must be so many lines, such-and-such font, etc) but I'll see what I can do in this case because it's an interesting opportunity.

Hmmm... I took the instructions (above) literally and wrote a poem that is UNDER 25 lines. Reading the comments, I'm wondering if perhaps it should have been precisely 20 lines? If so, maybe some clarification in the rules is in order.

Either way, I've put my hat in the ring. Thanks for hosting this challenge and giving us the opportunity to flex a little poetry muscle.
