One Shot Wednesday: A Place To Share Your Poems

Welcome to One Shot Wednesday - where you get to highlight your poetic talents

Here we go with another great One Shot Wednesday...
I’m Adam Dustus and it’s a privilege to host OSW this week!

Before signing up— a quick recap of how One Shot works:

1. Write a poetic piece & post it on your blog

2. Then let us know about your post. Link back to One Shot

3. Sign up in the Mr Linky list, linking directly to your post, AFTER you've posted it.

4. Go visit others who have signed up! Offer support & encouragement. Share your love of words and insight respectfully. Please try to visit as many participating poets as you can. We all could use and appreciate kind feedback.

All forms of poetry are accepted for One Shot Wednesday. Everyone is welcome. Feel free to invite your fellow poet friends to join the festivities. Let’s make this a great, supportive community! So on behalf of Leslie, Brian, and Pete this week—enjoy and help foster the supportive growth of our creative community.

Cheers.
Adam

  9. Thanks everyone for coming to another One Shot Wednesday.

My question for this week: How can we encourage you as a poet?

I too am looking forward to this week primarily because I look forward to reading the wonderful posts and I am encouraged by growing friendships - hope you are too.

My poem this week was inspired by a friendship with a poet who has inspired me.

  31. Penny dropped that I can link my poetry to the blog on Wednesday rather then submit to an 'editorial' panel - yes I know slow or what! For one time only I have linked to to all my blogs to offer a range of what I have scribbled out but in future I'll just post one of what ever emerges in the week. Scribbles and Diversions is where I do more formal longer poetry. I have posted an elegy.
Random Twitter Stories has Haiku's, Tanka's and Gogyohka's of which I have posted an example. Finally, Random Short Stories tends to feature mostly free verse poems around 50ish words. I do poetry for fun so have no claims or ambitions to be a published poet. Now time for a cup of tea as a lot of poets to visit.

  44. Mr.Bill... Cannot seem to post a comment on your page, so will tell you here that I enjoyed your haiku. Goes great conceptually with the image, in which the middle footprint breaking the "frame" of the rectangle looks very cool. Thanks.

  47. Gay: I love this. You have captured the cadence and vernacular so well, I was there with Tatters. I'm assuming that Tatters is a dog, and like most animals, he could see past the shabby exterior to the kindred soul within.

    ReplyDelete
  48. ok, back in the hunt to catch up...some work has to be done you know...smiles.

    ReplyDelete
  49. I ma late but i think its ok :)

  50. Thank you everyone who read my poem or poems @ grcannon.tumblr.com and you can follow me @beachanny on twitter. I appreciate the remarks on my "dog" pov poem. It was fun and part of an ongoing group of Texas poetry I'm writing. I read some poems by the folks here but didn't quite know where to make comments. Sort of new to all this. Thanks again. Gay

  51. PattiKen, I read your post after I wrote mine. Yes, Tatters is the mythical dog; however there is a living myth that Leadbelly did once meet Blind Lemon in Deep Ellum and play a blues set with him. I'm not sure it's been authenticated.

I guess I could use a little help for next time. I did like the several pieces I read and left notes there for each of you.
Thank you for your kind words posted here. It is comforting when someone likes your work, as you know.
